We Supply a Complete Range of Sterilisation Baskets & Containers

Our aim is to provide intelligent solutions for today’s healthcare needs. We work closely with our major international suppliers to ensure that our product offering is of the highest quality and meets the requirements of the end user.

Our sterilisation baskets are manufactured in Italy by the global company CBM and Medical + Optical are delighted to be their Australian distributors.

CBM was founded by Cav. Busatti in 1947, based originally in Milan and moving to its new, much larger site in Torre de’ Picenardi (Cremona) in 1962. CBM conforms to all the European and global standards for manufacturing and is a significant member of both the European Technical Committee CEN and the International Standards Committee ISO. This involvement ensures that CBM remains one of the leading manufacturers of sterilisation baskets in the world.

The CBM range of sterilisation baskets use the highest standard AISI-304 Medical Grade Stainless Steel, as well as the most advanced machines available. All CBM products comply with the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4187:2014 and its Normative References for compliance in infection control and instrument transport and protection.

Medical + Optical offer a full range of sterilisation containers and accessories from KLS Martin and Ermis Medtech based in Germany.

Sterilisation Baskets

Medical + Optical offer an extensive range of sterilization baskets and lids including DIN sizes and baskets with dimensions that are the same as the most commonly used plastic trays.

All trays can be wrapped or placed in a sterilization block, the choice is yours. They have smooth surfaces and rounded corners to minimise the risk of tears if wrapping is used. All baskets can  accommodate a range of inserts and accessories that can help both organise and protect your surgical instruments.

MINI & MICRO Sterilization Baskets

MINI & MICRO Baskets are ideally suited to the protection of delicate and/or sharp instruments.

The Mini is constructed from 2mm x 2mm stainless steel mesh on all four sides with the base and removable lid constructed from 4mm x 4mm stainless steel mesh. The MICRO has only 2 x 2 mm perforations on all surface areas.

Rigid Scope Sterilization Baskets

Scopes are an expensive asset and can often be damaged beyond repair if not adequately protected during safe removal at point of use, reprocessing, storage, or transportation. By using these Rigid Scope Baskets and an appropriate selection of accessories, you can protect your valuable scopes.

These Rigid Scope Baskets are suitable for use with both Steam Sterilization and Hydrogen Peroxide processes.

Robotic Surgery

Our range of Robotic Surgery baskets has been specifically designed to safely store and handle complex robotic surgical instrumentation. They have additional features to enhance their rigidity and strength, on both the base and the lid and feature inserts to secure the robotic equipment.

Laproscopic Frame

Laparoscopic frames are very useful for the creation of a user-friendly Laparoscopic Instrument Set. The removable Laparoscopic Frame is designed to be aseptically lifted out of either a base metal perforated basket and/or a rigid sterilization container and placed safely on the instrument trolley.

MICRO Dissector Sterilization Baskets

MICRO Dissector baskets are used for positioning delicate instuments, such as MICRO ear dissectors. When the tilting mechanism is in the rest position and basket lid is closed, micro instruments can be carried, washed and packed safely, avoiding any damage due to handling.

KERR-S1 Frame

This Arthroscopic Frame is designed to be attached with screws to the base of a metal perforated sterilization basket, so that delicate arthroscopic and/or neuro rongeurs/kerrison punches remain in an upright position for ease of reprocessing,  visibility & access for use.
