Doxpal are a range of radiolucent, self-retaining, single-use retractors which make surgical access easy.
As a product created by surgeons for surgeons, think of them as the doctor’s pal – Doxpal. Doxpal Retractors are very easy to use, simply “squeeze and release”.
Doxpal are available in different sizes and each size is available with two different tensions; Low and High.
Features and Benefits
- Easy to use and reposition
- Reduced radiation exposure
- Limited tissue pressure
- Low risk of falling out
The Doxpal retractors can be used for very small to large incisions. The size and model (retractor force) is selected depending on location, depth and length of the incision. The choice is made upon the surgeon’s judgement. Doxpal is supplied sterile for immediate use. The device is for professional use only.
There is no need to remove the Doxpal retractor when using
image intensification. The plastic is radiolucent and does not
obstruct the surgeon’s view of the bone. The Doxpal appears
as a faint shadow on the monitor.
Reduced radiation exposure
When using a metal retractor under image intensification, the
dose rate (the air kerma rate) will increase by about 15%.
This increase is approximately 2.5 times higher than the
corresponding increase when using a Doxpal retractor.
